Italy, 1980s

Pair of postmodern 'Dove' table lamps designed by Mario Barbaglia and Marco Colombo for Italiana Luce. Adjustable bird-like polycarbonate and steel form. The lamp base can be rotated 360°; the light has adjustable tilt and 'floats'. The diffuser can also rotate to direct the light beam.  Rocking, two position switch with varying intensity. Matte black finish, highly adjustable neck and body.

A pair offers the opportunity to position the lamps in the same way, or to position them differently for asymmetry and contrast. In 1985, the Dove lamp entered the permanent collection of the Cooper-Hewitt museum in New York City and the Museo Rufino Tamayo of Mexico City.

Signed on the bases.
