A classic pair of midcentury modern armchairs by Baker Furniture. Newly reupholstered in a charcoal grey low pile velvet fabric, very durable though soft and comfortable. These chairs have a tufted back and sleek polished stainless steel bases with leveling feet. The chair design is unique- the bottom edges of the upholstered frame are stepped and rest inside the stainless steel base; there is a nice 'reveal' or line of space between the upholstered base and the frame- an attractive design detail.
The frames themselves beneath the upholstery are of superb construction and are built to last. The original threaded (removable) leveling feet are the only parts that show some wear- light oxidation and some light rust to the leveling feet only. The chair bases are highly polished to a mirror shine and without rust- beautiful- remarkable condition considering their age.
CONDITION NOTES: Newly reupholstered; Complete spring re-tie; all new highest quality foam. The charcoal grey fabric used is rated at 100,000 double rubs- soft, yet durable.
