USA, 1950s
Mid-Century Modern tufted sofa designed by Edward Wormley for Dunbar. This piece has it all- good looks, excellent quality, and great comfort. It's an excellent scale and size- full sized without
being oversized, tailored while still being comfortable. The base has nice detail and is beveled both sides at the front of the leg; the underside has the same bevel both sides detail on the
underside.
If you are looking for a comfortable sofa with style and top build quality, this is it.
CONDITION NOTES: Newly reupholstered in a grey wool by Maharam (Tonica by Kvadrat 182: http://maharam.com/products/tonica-by-kvadrat/colors/182).
The hardwood base has some vacuum cleaner dings and age appropriate wear (it's either walnut or mahogany- I think it's walnut). Structurally sound. No
maker's marks remain on this piece.
