USA, 1950s   Elegant serpentine form eight drawer dresser designed by T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings for Widdicomb. This is a very large dresser - a full 70 inch double dresser width coupled with a full 40" height. The drawers are generously sized and have adjustable drawer dividers. The front has a gentle curve and the legs repeat this line with a curving taper. It's a very elegant piece. Signed inside drawer.    CONDITION NOTES: The pulls are in 24K gold over porcelain and are all in excellent condition. The lacquer finish has general losses and wear, particularly on the top of the dresser. It has nicks, marks, and age appropriate wear. There is a section of rounded trim on the left lower side that is missing. The matching piece has detached from the right lower side, but is present and could be copied for replacement. Refinishing is recommended. This piece would look great in a darker mahogany- or a solid color lacquer such as white or black would make the gold pulls pop. The drawer interiors are clean and ready to use.   DIMENSIONS: 70" W x 21" D x 40" H
