USA, 1970s
Henredon chinoiserie style cabinet in a faux tortoise finish with brass hinges / closure and brass capped legs. The maker employed an oil drop lacquer finish technique which creates a stunning
faux tortoise shell effect. The finish is quite thick. The saffron-lacquered interior has a single drawer and a single shelf (resting on the bottom in photos- finished to match the cabinet
interior). This piece was recently featured in House Beautiful in an interior by Parker Kennedy Living.
CONDITION NOTES: Some chips to the finish at edges (hard to see with the tortoise pattern) and age appropriate oxidation to the brass hardware.
