USA, 1950s
Pair of faux bamboo Hollywood Regency armchairs. Elegant and classic dining or side chairs. These had a swatch of the same seat fabric nearby labeled 'Henredon', so they are believed to be made by Henredon, though no labels remain on the chairs. A different back style than most in this genre- a gently curving top and lattice back. The seats retain their original striped velvet upholstery. They would be great at the head and foot of a dining table or flanking a console or buffet.
CONDITION NOTES: Structurally sound. Only light and age-appropriate marks to the hardwood frames. Seat undersides show that the strapping appears to be more worn, but they still sit well. Velvet upholstery shows some fading and light stains, presents well overall.
