Well made vintage sofa by Stratford. The lines on this epitomize 1970s cool and are comparable to designs by Milo Baughman and Vladimir Kagan. The slanted back detail takes this sofa from being a
clean lined classic to rad. In moving, we lost the center seat cushion, and it is not included. The sofa will need reupholstery as the cream cotton velvet fabric is overall in okay condition, but
with some marks and light stains, no smoke, tears, or pets- but really because it needs a new center seat pillow, and the dacron lining the lower front has twisted. Photos are included with
a center cushion so you can see what it did look like with all the cushions. An upholsterer can do this easily with a new piece of foam.
This sofa is extremely comfortable with a great look, and we can safely say it is the most comfortable modern (good looking) sofa we have ever had.
We can have this piece upholstered in charcoal Knoll mohair (thick and luxurious velvet) for +$1200. This is less than the cost of the fabric at retail. Upholstery quotes have ranged from
$375-600 for labor, not including the foam center cushion.Yardage 15-20 yds depending on pattern / size.
