Modular Hutch or Wardrobe by Jack Cartwright for Founders

USA, 1960s

Modular maple hutch or wardrobe cabinet designed by Jack Cartwright for Founders. This piece is from a modular series and has a clean lined profile with geometric chrome pulls. This can be placed on top of other pieces from the series, or I would add a base / legs to it and use it as a wardrobe or storage piece. Relatively shallow depth at 15.5". At left, this piece has one fixed position shelf (the bottom shelf) and two adjustable shelves above this- great storages space for handbags or shoes. The right side has a fixed position shelf at the bottom (more room for shoes!) and the main open space has a pull-out valet hanger installed at the top.

If you were looking to build a freestanding wardrobe in a room, place this on top of other pieces from the series- we have a pair of chests this fits perfectly on top of.

Great in natural blonde, but would also look fantastic in a glossy solid lacquer- royal blue, emerald green, yellow, black, red, white, pink!

CONDITION NOTES: Overall in very good condition. Lower left side of the cabinet has a lighter section from sun fading.
