Vintage French-Style Sofa by Henredon. Elegant, detailed carved hardwood frame in a pale yellow finish; original striped upholstery. This lived in a formal living room and was rarely used.
Beautiful shaped detail at the arms- arms have padding, but aren't overly large. The seat has three cushions across and the back has a matching three- all are removable and reversible. Retains
original Henredon Fine Furniture label beneath seat cushions and also a paper tag from The Schoonbeck Company, marked 6824 Sofa 92". Schoonbeck was a high end furniture maker that was purchased
by Henredon.
This piece could step into a modern interior yet would be perfect for use in 1950s-60s set design.
CONDITION NOTES: In excellent vintage condition. Frame has some small chips to the finish and a couple of areas on the edge (front right edge) where the frame has a gouge/scrape.
Upholstered cushions are in very good condition; filling is soft and not hardened. Usable as is or reupholster.
